Kennedy Selected by Bandits as No. 7 Overall Pick of AUSL College Draft

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M softball's Emiley Kennedy was selected in the second round by the Bandits in the 2025 AUSL College Draft as the seventh overall pick.
The All-American is 19-4 in 2025 with a 2.57 ERA in 138.2 innings of work, while tossing 16 complete games in 20 starts and striking out 132 batters. The senior owns a 68-31 career record in 601.0 innings pitched with 551 strikeouts, ranking as the eighth most punchouts in Texas A&M history. Kennedy has gone the distance 49 times in her career, including 21 times in SEC action.
As a junior, Kennedy earned NFCA All-America Second Team honors, becoming the first left-handed pitcher to earn All-American status in 41 years. She registered the third-most shutouts (10) and complete games (24) in the nation, while ranking top 20 in the country in wins (24), strikeouts (200) and innings pitched (202.2). The Woodlands, Texas, product became the first Aggie pitcher in 13 seasons to record double-digit shutouts and the first in 11 years to register at least 200 strikeouts in a season. The Aggie ace was dominant in the nation's best conference earning All-SEC First Team honors after setting program records in innings pitched (100.1) and strikeouts (86) in league play. She appeared in every game in seven-of-eight SEC series, while leading the league in innings pitched and ranking second with nine wins and third with three saves.
"I am incredibly proud of Lefty," Texas A&M head coach Trisha Ford said. "The amount of growth I've seen in her since I have gotten here and everything she has accomplished is a direct reflection of the hard work she has put in. I'm excited to watch her finish out her Aggie career and continue to rise to every challenge throughout her professional career."
The AUSL is in its inaugural season operating in a four-team summer league format with 15 players on each team, while each team will play 24 games with opening day set for June 7. The league will be touring between 10 different cities in its inaugural season. The Bandits open the season on July 9 against the Blaze in Rosemont, Ill. Kennedy makes her first trip as a professional to the Lone Star State July 17-20 in a four-game set against the Volts at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas.
