Aggies Continue Undefeated Streak in Singles

WACO – The Texas A&M men's tennis team extended its streak to 8-0 in singles action at the Waco Fall Kickoff Classic at the Hurd Tennis Center Saturday.
The Maroon & White is represented in each bracket's final round after no Aggie dropped a set on the second day of the tournament. Silva upset the No. 2 seed, Noah McDonald of SMU, in the red draw, 6-1, 6-4. Junior Lathan Skrobarcek only gave up four games against Merse Deli of ACU, 6-2, 6-2. Redshirt sophomore Ritesh Patil defeated Yazid Lahjomri from UTA, 6-3, 6-4. After a tiebreaker first set, Gorin shutout Noey Do in the second set to advance to the finals, 7-6 (5), 6-0.
In the consolation doubles bracket, senior Ethan Silva and freshman Egor Gorin edged out their opponents, Matthew Faraci and Alexander Stafford (SMU), in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (1).
Play concludes tomorrow, with doubles starting at 9 a.m. followed by singles.
