Aggies Lift Lid on 2025-26 Campaign at Gopher Invitational
Sep 06, 2025 | Men's Golf
INDEPENDENCE, Minn. – The No. 20 Texas A&M men's golf team lifts the lid on the 2025-26 campaign when the Aggies compete at the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational Sunday and Monday at Windsong Farm Golf Club.
One of the premier courses in Minnesota, Windsong Farm Golf Club is renowned for its challenging layout and history of hosting USGA and collegiate events, including the Gopher Invitational. Built on a 248-acre former horse farm, the loop offers a traditional yet demanding challenge. The 54-hole tournament will be contested over two days at the par-71, 7,464-yard course, with teams teeing off at 7:15 a.m. each day.
The field features two teams which finished in the top 25 of last season's Scoreboard National Rankings powered by Clippd with Texas A&M at No. 11 and South Carolina, the other SEC team competing, at No. 22. Seven other squads finished in the top 100, including Louisville (28), Marquette (47), Little Rock (53), Furman (64), Iowa State (73), Nebraska (83) and West Virginia (91).
Texas A&M's lineup is headlined by sophomore Wheaton Ennis, who finished the 2024-25 campaign ranked No. 82 nationally. He is joined by juniors Aaron Pounds and Jack Usner, as well as senior transfer Jacob Sosa. Rounding out the starting five is freshman Shiv Parmar, one of the top-ranked recruits in the 2025 class. Competing as individuals are junior transfer Kris Kuvaas, who brings two years of West Coast Conference experience from Pepperdine, junior Jake Maggert and sophomore Alex Long.
The 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational is an annual collegiate golf tournament hosted by the University of Minnesota. Established within the last two decades, the event has quickly built a strong reputation for attracting some of the best college players in the country. The tournament has already proven to be a launching pad for future professionals, with nearly 40 former participants having earned their PGA Tour card.

Windsong Farm Golf Club is located about 30 minutes west of Minneapolis in Independence, Minnesota. Built on the rolling landscape of a former horse farm, the property reflects the open, pastoral character of the surrounding west metro "horse country." Marshlands, a distinctly Minnesotan feature, come into play throughout the routing and create a natural challenge for golfers. The club features 36 holes across two championship courses. The South Course, designed by John Fought and Minnesota native Tom Lehman, offers a traditional, strategic test. The recently opened North Course, designed by John Fought, draws inspiration from classic Golden Age architects such as Seth Raynor.
