NASHVILLE – The Texas A&M swimming and diving teams open 2026 with a double dual with the Vanderbilt Commodores and Kentucky Wildcats on Friday at the Centennial Sportsplex on Vanderbilt's campus. The meet begins at 1 p.m. on Friday.
The women's team will swim against Vanderbilt and Kentucky, while the men's team faces the Wildcats. For the diving portion of the meet, the Aggies travel to Lexington to face Kentucky's divers at the Lancaster Aquatic Center.
In the Aggies' most recent outing, the swim team logged 13 race victories against the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson on Dec. 19-20.
Senior Munzy Kabbara led the men's team, providing three first-place finishes in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 back touching in 1:45.29, 3:48.12, and 1:43.39, respectively. Freshman Bucky Gettys chipped in two first-place finishes in the 1,650 free in 15:19.18 and the 500 free in 4:21.87.
Leading the way for the women were juniors Ava Whitaker and Hannah O'Leary. Whitaker placed first in the 200 fly finishing in 1:57.05 which logged a NCAA qualifying standard time. She also won the 100 fly touching in 52.87. O'Leary finished first in the 200 IM and the 400 IM in 2:00.39 and 4:17.14, respectively.
The women also bettered their season-best times in the 200 medley relay in 1:36.80 and the 400 medley relay in 3:33.18.
Four Aggie divers have qualified for NCAA Zones. Sophomore Gabby Filzen qualified on the platform with a score of 267.05. Sophomore Jaxon Bowshire and freshman Emilio Trevino also qualified on the platform with a score of 336.70 and 426.40, respectively. Sophomore Nathan Stone qualified on both springboards with a score of 307.25 on the 1-meter and 336.05 on the 3-meter.
