Aggies Gear Up for Crimson Tide Challenge in 2026 Home Opener

The Texas A&M swimming and diving teams take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in SEC dual meet action at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Student Recreation Center Natatorium.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP:
The two programs have faced off in dual meet action twice previously with the Aggie women's team owning a 2-0 advantage over the Crimson Tide with victories in 2014-15 and 2018-19, while the Crimson Tide men hold a 2-0 series lead. In only previous meeting in College Station on Jan. 9, 2015, the Aggie women rolled the Tide, 178-120, while the Alabama men's team edged the Maroon & White, 162-138.

LAST TIME OUT:
Fifth-year senior Kaitlyn Owens and junior transfer Ava Whitaker continue to shine, leading the way for the Aggie women's team again with two victories each in their last outing against Vanderbilt and Kentucky in Nashville. Owens won the 100 backstroke in 53.05 and the 50 free in 22.91, Whitaker swept the 100 and 200 butterfly races in 52.83 and 1:56.05, respectively. Ella McQuinn chipped in a pair of wins in the 200 free in 1:46.72 and the 100 free in 49.01 and Hannah O'Leary added one more victory in the 200 breaststroke in 2:12.56.
 
On the men's side, fifth-year senior Munzy Kabbara provided a race victory against the Wildcats in the 200 IM in 1:46.12, while dive crew finished with a pair of victories from freshman Emilio Trevino and sophomore Nathan Stone on the platform and the 3-meter dive with score of 394.43 and 362.25, respectively. Additionally, junior Ben Scholl chipped in two runner-up efforts in the 50 and 100 free finishing in 19.62 and 43.48, respectively. Juniors Logan Brown and Daniil Pancerevas added second place finishes in the 200 breast in 1:57.67 and 200 free in 1:37.35.
