COLLEGE STATION –The Texas A&M swimming & diving teams combined for 28 victories in the season-opening TCU Intrasquad on Friday at the Rec Center Natatorium.
Leading the way with a team-high three individual victories was senior Hannah O’Leary, who posted victories in the 100 IM, 300 IM and 150 breast.
Tallying a pair of victories were Hayden Miller and Halina Panczyszyn on the women’s side and Logan Brown, John Simmons and Chase Swearingen for the men.
Miller won the 600 freestyle and 300 free, while Panczyszyn swept the 50 and 150 backstrokes. Brown struck gold in the 100 IM and 150 breast, Simmons swept the 50 back and 150 back and Swearingen won the 50 free and 50 fly.
Other Aggie swimmers contributing victories for the women were Ella McQuinn in the 50 breast, Natalie Schneider in the 50 free and Katie Walker in the 50 fly. Contributing victories for the men were Mason Francis in the 50 breast, Bucky Gettys in the 600 free, Daniel Eichel in the 300 free and Carter Lancaster in the 300 IM.
Aggie divers swept all four springboard events with Sydney Guidara winning 1-meter and Bridget Foster taking the 3-meter on the women’s side, and Charles Reuter finishing first on the men’s 1- and 3-meter boards.
Texas A&M opened and closed the meet with a sweep of the 200 medley and free relays, respectively. The foursome of Hannah Krueger, McQuinn, Walker and Reagan Sherrard won the women’s 200 medley relay, while the quartet of Simmons, Francis, Alejandro Michelena and Ben Sytsma touched first in the men’s race. In the 200 free relay, the women’s team of McQuinn, Sherrard, Krueger and Walker and men’s squad of Swearingen, Brown, Jack Boysen and Hussein Shawky emerged victorious.
