Haggerty Selected to Media Preseason All-SEC Third Team

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M men’s basketball newcomer PJ Haggerty was selected to the Preseason All-SEC Third Team, voted on by a select panel of both SEC and national media members, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Haggerty came to Aggieland after spending the 2025-26 season at Kansas State where he started all 31 games he appeared in. He ranked fourth nationally and second in the Big 12 averaging 23.4 points per game, while adding 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Wildcats. The 6-4, 195-pound guard tallied five 30-point games on the year, scoring a season-high 37 against Mississippi State.

Prior to his time in Manhattan, Haggerty made stops at Memphis and Tulsa after redshirting the 2022-23 season at TCU.

In 2024-25, he helped lead the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament after they claimed both an American Athletic Conference (AAC) regular season and tournament title. Haggerty was named a Second Team All-American by AP, USBWA and Sporting News, and a Third Team All-American by the NABC. He also finished as a top-five finalist for the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award and a top-15 finalist for the John R. Wooden Award. The AAC Player of the Year played in all 35 games and averaged 21.7 points on 47.6-percent (248-of-521) shooting, adding 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Haggerty was invited to the NBA Draft Combine following his impressive sophomore season.
