SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Texas A&M men’s basketball newcomer PJ Haggerty was selected to the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Top 20 Preseason Watch List, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced Tuesday afternoon.
Prior to his time in Manhattan, Haggerty made stops at Memphis and Tulsa after redshirting the 2022-23 season at TCU.
In 2024-25, he helped lead the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament after they claimed both an American Athletic Conference (AAC) regular season and tournament title. Haggerty was named a Second Team All-American by AP, USBWA and Sporting News, and a Third Team All-American by the NABC. He also finished as a top-five finalist for the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award and a top-15 finalist for the John R. Wooden Award. The AAC Player of the Year played in all 35 games and averaged 21.7 points on 47.6-percent (248-of-521) shooting, adding 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Haggerty was invited to the NBA Draft Combine following his impressive sophomore season.
