Late Rallies Fall Short for Aggies at Clearwater Invitational

Maddie Sauni highlighted the offense, blasting her first career home run and finishing the day 5-for-6 with three RBI while throwing out her first stolen base runner. Kennedy Powell and Mya Perez each homered and drove in four runs, including Powell's first career grand slam.
Texas A&M (4-3) faced an early 6-0 deficit to Oklahoma State (6-3) before getting on the board in the bottom of the second and adding five more in the third. Perez launched a three-run homer to start the rally, while Tallen Edwards hit an RBI triple and Sauni drove in her second run as the Aggies trailed 7-6 after three innings.
After trading a pair of scoreless innings, the Cowgirls hit back-to-back home runs to extend their lead to 9-6. Sauni led off the bottom half by sending the first pitch over the right-field fence, followed by a pair of RBI singles to pull within one run. Oklahoma State retired Texas A&M in order in the seventh to secure the 9-8 win.
Duke (6-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead, scoring a run in each of the first two innings. Powell blasted a two-out grand slam to put the Aggies up 4-2 in the bottom of the second before the Blue Devils answered with a two-run home run to even the score at 4-4 through three innings. After a scoreless fourth, Duke doubled its total, plating four runs on two hits as Texas A&M trailed 8-4 in the fifth.
Down to its final three outs, Powell led off with a single before Ariel Kowalewski launched a two-run home run to pull the Aggies within two. A pair of strikeouts and a groundout ended the game, 8-6.
The Aggie pitching staff totaled 10 strikeouts in 14.0 innings. Taylor Pannell was saddled with the loss in game one, while Kate Munnerlyn took the loss in game two.

- Texas A&M hit a pair of home runs in each game, marking the fourth game this season with multiple home runs. The Aggies have hit six home runs in their previous four games.
- Kennedy Powell stole a base in game one, extending her consecutive stolen base streak to 28 successful attempts. The senior reached base in each game, extending her consecutive reached base streak to 10 games dating back to 2025. Powell finished the day 4-for-6 and matched a career high with four RBI in game two.
- Junior Mya Perez finished the day 4-for-8 with one home run, one double and four RBI. Perez and Powell each recorded a hit to extend their hitting streaks to seven games.
- Sophomore Ariel Kowalewski hit her first home run as an Aggie and the ninth of her career.
