No. 6 Women’s Golf Jumps Out to Big Lead at Moon Golf Invitational
Feb 15, 2026 | Women's Golf
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The No. 6 Texas A&M women's golf team jumped out to a seven-stroke lead after 18 holes at the Moon Golf Invitational Sunday, shooting a 3-under 285.
"We got off to a blazing start and then the wind started howling in the middle of the back nine," Head coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "We responded very well after that and rectified some of the mistakes on Nos. 13, 14 and 15. Very proud of our fight to start this tournament off well and post a great number."
The Maroon & White was seven shots ahead of No. 8 Auburn (+4) and No. 9 Texas (+5), No. 5 Florida (+5) and No. 7 Wake Forest (+5) rounded out the top five. The field is comprised of five top 10 teams and 12 top 25 squads.
Vanessa Borovilos and Sky Sudberry both led the team with 2-under 70 scorecards. Borovilos started the day with an eagle on No. 10, while the rest of her teammates birdied the hole to jump out to a large early lead. The pair of Borovilos and Sudberry were tied for second and one shot behind Mississippi State's Izzy Pellot for the individual lead.
Lousie Reau shot even par for the round, securing ninth heading into day two. Natalie Yen began the day with three straight birdies and went 1-over 73 Sunday. Yen was in 16th and her fellow freshman Brynn Kort rounded out the lineup in 29th.
The Aggies return to the course at 8:30 a.m. from No. 1. Live stats can be found at scoreboard.clippd.com.
