Men’s Basketball Remains on the Road to Take on No. 20 Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE – The Texas A&M men's basketball team rounds out a two-game road swing Wednesday night, taking on No. 20 Arkansas at Bud Walton Arena. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. on ESPN2.
The Maroon & White made it back-to-back victories and moved to 19-8 on the year, 9-5 in SEC play, after topping Oklahoma, 75-71, on the road Saturday night. Despite a late surge by the Sooners, the Aggies were in control throughout the night and played from behind for just 10 seconds in the game. Rashaun Agee led all players with 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Rylan Griffen filled out the stats sheet with 14 points, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Agee has been dominant on both ends of the floor, scoring in double figures in 14 of the last 16 games and registering 14 double-digit rebounding games this season. He is one double-double shy of Texas A&M's single-season record after notching his 11th of the year in the win over the Rebels. Tyler Davis holds the record with 12 double-doubles in 2017-18. Agee is averaging 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in SEC play. On the year, Agee ranks second among league players a with 8.9 rebounds and 6.3 defensive boards per game.
The Aggies are No. 9 in the country in scoring offense with 88.9 points per game, while their 11.2 3-pointers per game are also good for ninth nationally. Texas A&M has been strong in the paint over the last three games, outscoring its opponent by an average of 16 points in that span.
Arkansas enters Wednesday's game at 20-7 on the year, 10-4 in league play. The Razorbacks have won four of their last five games, most recently topping Missouri, 94-86, Saturday at home. Arkansas leads the all-time series with Texas A&M 110-62, but the Aggies have claimed three of the last five meetings, including a 69-61 win in College Station a year ago. Texas A&M's most recent win in Fayetteville came in 2019, when the Maroon & White brought home an 87-80 victory.
