
Men’s Basketball Concludes Regular Season at LSU

BATON ROUGE – The Texas A&M men's basketball team hits the road to close out regular season play against the LSU Tigers Saturday evening at the Maravich Assembly Center. Tip is set for 5 p.m. on SEC Network.
The Maroon & White sit at 20-10 on the year, registering their fifth consecutive 20-win season, and 10-7 in SEC action. They snapped a two-game skid Tuesday with a 96-85 win over Kentucky at Reed Arena. Texas A&M scored 27 of the final 30 points in the first half to take a 45-33 lead into halftime. The Aggies remained in the driver's seat for much of the second half and held off a late surge by the Wildcats to secure the 11-point victory. Rylan Griffen matched his career high with 21 points to lead the way for the Maroon & White. Rubén Dominguez knocked down five 3-pointers to finish with 17 points.
Zach Clemence and Pop Isaacs returned to the starting lineup against Kentucky, but have been strong off the bench for the Aggies as throughout the year. Clemence added 13 points and a pair of blocks against the Wildcats. He has scored in double figures in three of the last five games and is averaging 13.9 points, shooting 59-percent (36-61) from the field over the last seven games. Isaacs has filled out the stats sheet against Kentucky, finishing with 12 points, six rebounds, eight assists and two steals, after adding 14 points and four assists against the Longhorns.
Rashaun Agee continues to dominate of both ends of the floor, scoring 15-plus points in four of the last five games and registering 14 double-digit rebounding games this season. He is coming off a 14-point, eight-rebound performance against the Wildcats. Agee is one double-double shy of Texas A&M's single-season record after notching his 11th of the year in the win over the Rebels. Tyler Davis holds the record with 12 double-doubles in 2017-18. Agee is averaging 15.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in SEC play. On the year, he ranks second among league players a with 8.8 rebounds and 6.2 defensive boards per game.
The Aggies are No. 10 in the country in scoring offense with 88.3 points per game and have seen at least 30 points come from non-starters in 18 games this season, most recently racking up 57 in the win over Kentucky. The Maroon & White rank second nationally and lead the conference averaging 36.9 bench points per game.
LSU enters the regular season finale at 15-15 on the year, 3-14 in SEC play. The Tigers have dropped seven of their last eight games after falling at Auburn, 88-74, earlier this week. Saturday marks the 54th all-time meeting between the Aggies and Tigers. LSU has the slight edge in the series, 29-24, but Texas A&M has claimed six of the last seven matchups. The Aggies added to their count with a 75-72 win at Reed Arena to begin conference play earlier this year and aim to make it four straight in Baton Rouge.
