
Men's Golf Wraps Up Regular Season at Tar Heel Intercollegiate

CHAPEL HILL – The Texas A&M men's golf team returns to action at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate Saturday and Sunday at Finley Golf Club.
The Aggies are making just their second appearance at the annual event hosted by the University of North Carolina. The tournament will be contested on the par-70, 7,084-yard Finley Golf Club layout, a course deeply rooted in UNC golf history that has hosted numerous regional and conference championships.
Texas A&M enters the week coming off a strong showing at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, where the Maroon & White finished sixth at 25-under 827. The Aggies surged up the leaderboard with a final-round 13-under 271, one of the best rounds of the day.
Wheaton Ennis led the charge in Palm City, Florida, finishing tied for third individually at 13-under 200. The sophomore recorded a collegiate career-best 7-under 64 in the final round, highlighted by an eight-birdie performance.
Ennis is joined in the lineup by Aaron Pounds, Shiv Parmar, Jaime Montojo and Kris Kuvaas. Alex Long travels to Chapel Hill to compete as an individual.
The Aggies are the lone SEC team in the field. They are joined by ACC squads Duke and North Carolina, along with Houston and UCF from the Big 12 and Nebraska from the Big 10. The 15-team field is rounded out by nine more squads from along the eastern seaboard.

Course Description
Finley Golf Club serves as the home course for the North Carolina Tar Heels men's and women's golf teams. The course was originally built in 1949 by Raleigh businessman A. E. Finley and designed by George Cobb. In 1999, renowned course designer Tom Fazio redesigned Finley into a par 72 course, featuring five sets of tees ranging from 4,981 to 7,220 yards. Most recently, in 2023, Carolina golf legend Davis Love III led another major renovation, transforming the layout into a par 70 course and introducing a distinctive challenge for both teams.
