No. 11 Aggies Outrun Baylor Bears, 10-3

WACO – The No. 11 Texas A&M softball team outslugged Baylor, 10-3, Wednesday at Getterman Stadium to conclude its non-conference slate.
Texas A&M (31-12) recorded double-digit hits and runs in a game for the 10th time this season. KK Dement paced the offense going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI, while Kennedy Powell and Mya Perez added multi-hit games. Madi Sauni homered and drove in two, while Micaela Wark, Ariel Kowalewski, Kelsey Mathis and Larisa Perez each recorded an RBI.
Grace Sparks (4-0) earned the win in the circle, tossing 3.0 innings of relief with one strikeout while allowing one run. Sydney Lessentine secured her third save, throwing 3.0 scoreless innings with two strikeouts to close out the game.
The Aggies batted around in the opening frame, stringing back-to-back hits and loading the bases on a walk by Perez before Powell scored on a passed ball. Wark extended the lead to 2-0 with an RBI through the left side, and Kowalewski followed with an RBI double. Mathis added a sacrifice fly before Dement launched a two-run home run to left, capping a six-run inning.
Baylor (24-19) responded in the bottom half with a two-out, two-run home run to cut the deficit to 6-2.
The Bears carried momentum into the third, putting runners on with back-to-back singles before adding a run on a sacrifice fly to center to make it 6-3.
Texas A&M turned its 11th double play of the season in the fourth and held Baylor scoreless the rest of the way.
Sauni hit her third home run of the season, and first career pinch-hit home run, in the fifth to push the lead to 7-3.
The Aggies added three runs on two hits in the seventh, highlighted by RBI from Dement, Sauni and Larisa Perez to secure the 10-3 victory.

- Junior Mya Perez reached base on a walk in the first inning to extend her on base streak to 46 games.
