Apr 29, 2026 | Women's Golf
INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 4 Texas A&M women's golf team earned the one seed at the Waco regional which will take place at the Ridgewood Country Club May 11-13, the NCAA announced Wednesday.
The Aggies will be making their 33rd appearance in the NCAA postseason and fifth under the direction of head coach Gerrod Chadwell. The Waco regional is comprised of 12 teams, and the Maroon & White will need to finish within the top five of the field after 54 holes of stroke play in order to advance to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California, April 22-27.
Texas A&M has won five tournaments this season with five different lineups. The team is fresh off a semifinal appearance at the SEC Championship. The Aggies have only finished outside of the top three as a squad once this year in 11 tournaments.
The Aggies are led by Vanessa Borovilos, who was recently named to the ANNIKA Award Postseason Watch List, and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio. Both golfers played at the prestigious 2026 Augusta National Women's Amateur and were preseason All-Americans.
This marks the second No. 1 seed for the program at an NCAA regional under Chadwell and the first time since 2023 when the Aggies went to the San Antonio Regional.
