Jack Mahala enters his second season on the Texas A&M baseball staff and first as the director of player development and analytics.
Mahala was instrumental in the Aggies historic run to the College World Series Finals in 2024 as he served as the director of research and development. During his time with the program, Mahala has led the development of advanced machine learning models to enhance player evaluation, optimize game strategies and unlock untapped potential within the roster. His innovative approach has positioned Texas A&M at the forefront of college baseball, setting new standards for player development and program success.
In 2024, the Aggies ranked inside the top 10 nationally in 11 different categories and set program records for home runs, walks and strikeouts. The Maroon & White also matched the school record for shutouts with 12.
Prior to joining the Aggies, Mahala served as the associate pitching coordinator at Cressey Sports Performance, where he was instrumental in developing pitchers at all levels. He also worked with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, introducing advanced data visualization and analytical tools to enhance team performance.
Mahala was a four-year member of the Harvard baseball team where he logged 31 appearances on the mound for the Crimson. In 2002, Mahala graduated with a degree in economics.
