2013 (REDSHIRT JUNIOR): Appeared in 33 games as the Aggies’ closer, posting a 3-4 record with 14 saves and a 2.47 ERA... allowed 35 hits and 12 walks while striking out 39 and holding opponents to a .200 batting average over 47.1 innings... set the Aggies single-season saves record with 14... ranked fifth in the SEC with 14 saves and 33 appearances... appeared in 16 SEC contests, notching a 2-2 record with seven saves and a 4.03 ERA in 22.1 innings... did not allow a run in his first 13 appearances, registering a 2-0 record and seven saves and allowing seven hits and three walks while striking out 17 over 18.2 innings... earned first career save with 1.2 innings of relief against Illinois-Chicago (2/16), scattering three hits while striking out two... picked up saves in both games of a two-game series against Northwestern State (2/26-27) allowing two hits and one walk while striking out two over 2.1 innings... notched save in series opener against Cal State Fullerton (3/8) allowing one hit while striking out four over 2.1 shutout innings... earned his first career win by striking out three of the four batters he faced in 1.1 innings of a 6-5 victory over Houston Baptist (3/12)... picked up a win and a save in games against Georgia (3/15-16) allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two in 4.0 innings against the Bulldogs... earned a two-inning save in series opener at Arkansas (4/19) striking out two of the six batters he faced in a 5-3 win... notched two saves in series against Missouri (5/3 & 5/5) allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one over 2.0 innings... picked up save in series opener against LSU (5/9), striking out one over 1.0 innings... earned a win against Tennessee (5/17) scattering two hits and one walk over 1.1 innings of relief... earned save in NCAA Corvallis Regional win against UC Santa Barbara (6/2), allowing one hit in 2.1 scoreless innings.
2012 (JUNIOR): Did not see action during a redshirt season.
AT TYLER JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played two seasons at Tyler Junior College for coach Doug Wren... a starter as a freshman (2010), finished with a 9-2 record and 1.82 ERA with 87 strikeouts and just 17 walks in 78 innings... transitioned to the closer role as a sophomore (2011), finishing with four saves to go along with a 2.49 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 21.2 innings of work... selected as a second team All-American... played summer ball with the East Texas Pump Jacks of the Texas Collegiate League... went 1-1 with 20 saves and a 1.09 ERA in 28 games (33.0 IP) for the Pump Jacks in 2012, allowing just 16 hits and three walks while fanning 46.
AT HALLSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: Earned second team All-State honors at Hallsville High School, helping lead the school to postseason appearances in 2008 and 2009... also garnered first team All-East Texas and first team all-district accolades... compiled a 10-2 record as a senior.
PERSONAL: Jason Gene Jester was born May 4, 1991, in Longview, Texas, to Debbie Jester... has two siblings, Cullen and Whitney... enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
