2021 (JUNIOR): Played in 32 games for the Maroon & White, including 14 starts… batting .125 (6-for-48) with six runs, one triple, seven RBI, and 21 walks… went 2-for-3 with one run, one triple, one walk and two RBI in the win over Oklahoma (2/7) in the Round Rock Classic… named Most Valuable Player at the Round Rock Classic (2/26-28) for posting a .538 on-base percentage and .566 slugging percentage in three games... tallied two hits, one run and three walks in the midweek win over Incarnate Word (3/3)…

2020 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in 11 games for the Aggies, including seven starts... batted .394 (13-for-33) with seven runs, 12 RBI, two doubles, one triple and four walks... went 4-for-6 with three runs, one double and four RBI in the win over Prairie View A&M (2/19)... in series finale against New Mexico State (3/8), went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stole base and three RBI.

AT HUTCHINSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Played one season for head coach Ryan Schmidt at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas... played in 64 games for the Blue Dragons… hit .395 (94-for-238) with 16 doubles, 5 triples, 22 home runs, 75 RBI and 74 runs… helped his team to the Region III finals… named 2019 Jayhawk West Player of the year and Freshman of the year… earned All-Jayhawk West, All-Region III and All-American First Team honors… broke the record at Hutchinson CC for games played (64), AB (238), extra-base hits (43)… also hit three homeruns in one game... played summer ball for the Junction City Brigade… helped his team become Mid-Plains League Champions, and was also a All-Star.

AT KEARNEY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL: Did not play high school baseball... three-year letterwinnner in golf and a four-year letterwinner in ice hockey… made the National Honors Society and named Academic All-State honors in golf… played summer ball for the Kearney Runza and won the District Championship his junior and senior season.

PERSONAL: Zane Lawrence Schmidt was born on May 24, 2000 in Kearney, Nebraska to Kurt and Ginger Schmidt... has one older brother Zach Schmidt (22)… majoring in Finance and plans to get in to the financial side of a company after graduation... enjoys golfing, fishing and playing video games… favorite baseball player is Salvador Perez because he grew up playing catcher, and like to watch the Royals… played in the Little League World Series in 2012.
