2021-22: Cross Country - Finished sixth in the Aggie Opener completing the 4.1k course with a time of 14:33.1…Was the first Aggie to cross the finish line at the Texas A&M Invitational 5k with a time of 17:31.1, placed third overall…Placed fourth overall and was the first Aggie to finish the 6k race at the Gans Creek Classic (21:17.2)...Led the Aggies to a fourth place team finish at the Arturo Barrios Invitational, finished 14th overall at 20:57.3...Competed at the SEC Championships, finished 6k course with a time of 21:49.0.. 2020-21: Cross Country - Placed in the top 25 in three of the four meets entered...Opened her season finishing 20th at the SEC Preview Meet 5k at 18:06.3...Ran the Gans Creek Classic 6k in 21:38.6...Recorded a top 10 finish placing eighth at th Arturo Barrios Invitational 6k with a time of 21:10.7...Was the top Aggie finisher at the SEC Championships placing 42nd with a time of 21:24.7 on the 6k course. Indoor - Opened the season at the Ted Nelson Invitational, placed second in the 3000m at 10:07.58...Shaved nearly 20 seconds of her 3000m time finishing third at the Aggie Invitational at 9:57.17...Placed third at the Charlie Thomas Invitational 5000m with a time of 17:02.85...Ran a personal best indoor 3000m time of 9:45.38 at the Tyson Invitational...Competed at the SEC Indoor Championships, finished 13th in the 5000m at 17:19.26. Outdoor - Competed in four meets...Opened the outdoor season with a personal best 3000m steeplechase time of 10:54.86, it ranks her as the sixth best performer all-time in school history...Ran 17:03.58 in the 5000m at the Texas Relays...Competed at the SEC Outdoor Championships finishing 19th in the 3000m steeplechase at 10:55.11.

2019-20: Cross Country - Completed five races, four 6k's and one 5k...Opened the season finishing sixth at the Texas A&M Invitational (5k) with a time of 18:34.7...Ran a season best 6K time of 21:27.9 at the SEC Championships...Placed 29th at the NCAA Cross Country South Central Regional finishing the 6k course in 22:07.9. Indoor - Ran the mile, 3000m and 5000m between five different meets...Clocked 10:08.99 in the 3000m at the Ted Nelson Invitational...Clocked personal bests in three consecutive weekends to end the season, 5000m (17:21.03) on Feb. 7, 3000m (9:59.43) on Feb. 14 and mile (5:07.57) on Feb. 22. Outdoor - Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

2018-19: Cross Country - Raced in the SEC Championships, placing 62^nd with a time of 20:57.0 on 6,000m course … Finished 50^th in the NCAA South Central Region meet (22:14.6) … First race of season produced a time of 18:26.2 for 5,000m at Loyola Lakefront Invitational, placing 84^th … Ran 22:42.1 for 6k to finish 90^th in Arturo Barrios Invitational. Indoor - Opened with a 10:20.47 to place seventh in 3,000m at Ted Nelson Invitational … Finished sixth in 3,000m (10:23.31) at Texas A&M Triangular … Racing in 5,000m at Charlie Thomas Invitational finished 11^th in 18:19.03 … Placed sixth in 3,000m (10:21.10) at Aggie Twilight.Outdoor - Contested 2,000m steeplechase at UTSA Invitational, placing third in 7:33.43 … Finished seventh in 3,000m steeplechase at Reveille Meet with a time of 11:25.88 … Improved to 11:12.98 as runner-up in steeplechase at Texas A&M Invitational … Produced a best of 4:45.45 to place 10^th in 1,500m at Michael Johnson Invitational … Runner-up in steeplechase at A&M Alumni Muster with a career best of 11:10.83, moving to No. 9 performer on the Aggie all-time list.

Personal: Julia Abell, formerly Julia Black, married Jacob Abell on July 7, 2022 ... Julia is the daughter of Jessie and Lori Black … Has two older siblings, Jessica and Austin … Jessica is Texas A&M Class of ’14, Austin is Class of ’15, and brother-in-law Quentin Holtz is Class of ’14 … Her uncle, Guy Sheridan, played football at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale … Cousins who have competed collegiately include Brian Hobbie (baseball, Indiana), Scott Sheridan (football, Washington University-St. Louis, Mo), Daniel Katz (soccer, Bryan College) and Eric Hobbie (baseball, Southern Illinois at Carbondale) … Started competing in track and field in the seventh grade … Chose Texas A&M since the girls are so sweet and the coaches are amazing, felt instantly welcome on the team, and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else …Received her bachelors in Agriculture Communications and Journalism and a Masters of Science in Business and is now working on a certificate in Hospitality Management.
