Saw action as a reserve in 14 games, averaging 7.2 minutes per contest as a freshman … contributed 23 points (1.6 per game) along with 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals … shot 40.9 percent from the field (9-for-22) … made collegiate debut in season-opener against Northwestern State (11/11), finishing with a season-high six points as well as a rebound and a steal in 13 minutes of action … also contributed sic points in a win over American (11/14) … played a season-best 19 minutes against CSUN (11/24), finishing with a season-best five rebounds and two assists.

Before attending Notre Dame Prep (Mass.) during his final prep season, played for coach Alan Green at Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, Texas, helping lead BHS to the 2015 Texas State 4A Championship … named MVP of the championship contest went 8-of-12 shooting with 23 points, four assists and eight rebounds during 83-56 title game victory over Houston Sterling … during the team’s run in the state tournament, Smith remained on fire, shot 60 percent from the field and converted 78 percent at the free throw line ... earned TABCA All-State and District 8-4A MVP honors as well as spot on the all-regional team during title run … played with the Texas Lightning during AAU competition.

Caleb Albert Smith was born April 10, 1997, in Wichita, Kan., to parents Curtis and Margret Smith … has two brothers, Curtis Jr., and Isaiah, as well as a sister, Ciara … majoring in kinesiology … had two cousins, Bryce Brown and Arthur Brown Jr., who have played in the NFL … enjoys hunting, fishing and playing Xbox in his spare time.
