Peter Warden
- Title:
- Assistant Athletic Director, Men's Basketball
Peter Warden, Texas A&M Class of '05, enters his 14th season with the Aggie basketball program and fourth as a member of Billy Kennedy's staff, working primarily in internal operations.
The Houston, Texas, native plays a pivotal role on the staff by coordinating the numerous logistical challenges that face a collegiate basketball program. Travel, team meals, supervising the team’s managers and serving as the liaison with other aspects of the athletics department are but a small aspect of Warden’s role in the program.
Warden spent five seasons at Texas A&M as a student manager, including two years as head manager, prior to serving the 2006-07 season as director of operations for coach Billy Gillispie. He then spent two seasons on Gillispie's staff at the University of Kentucky in a similar capacity.
The Houston native has served as an administrator for three foreign summer tours with Athletes in Action. AIA toured Australia in 2007 and played in the William Jones Cup in Taiwan in 2006. AIA also toured East Asia in 2005. The American team, which featured Aggie standouts Josh Carter and Dominique Kirk, captured the Jones Cup in 2006.
Warden received his undergraduate and master's degree in accounting from A&M's prestigious Professional Program in Accounting (PPA) in 2006, where he was named an Outstanding PPA Student prior to graduation. In 2005, Warden completed an internship with the accounting firm BDO Seidman and signed with the firm before deciding to continue full-time in athletics.
At A&M, he was active in Breakaway Ministries for five years and served the organization as an intern in 2005-06.
