TJ Ryan begins his third season as the program’s Director of Scouting and fifth year at Texas A&M in 2023-24.
Among Ryan’s myriad duties are overseeing the team’s video analysis software, managing team analytics and overseeing recruiting content. He programs the team’s preseason individual workouts and Boot Camp. Additionally, he monitors the transfer portal for Texas A&M.
Ryan came to Aggieland in 2019 as the program aide after joining head coach Buzz Williams’ staff at Virginia Tech in 2018-19 as a graduate manager.
Prior to Virginia Tech, Ryan spent three years as a student-assistant at Division III Franklin College in Indiana after playing as a freshman. As an undergraduate, he traveled the country working different college basketball camps, including Butler, Liberty, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Xavier and skills camps at EGT Live and Dr1ven Training.
He also studied abroad where he held internships with Movistar Estudiantes and CB Zentro San Jorge Basketball in Madrid, Spain, and MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., Thomas Joseph Ryan IV graduated from Franklin in May 2018 with a degree in psychology. He is the son of Kristy and Tom Ryan, who coached men's basketball for 23 years and currently serves as the Director of Athletics at Eckerd College.
