CAREER: Finished her career as the school’s record holder in doubles (50) … Ranked sixth in RBI (160), ninth in putouts (1,131) and 10th in games played (238) and walks (95).
2018 (SENIOR): Voted to the SEC’s All-Defensive Team and NFCA All-South Region Third Team … Started in all 62 games, primarily at catcher … Batted .315 with four home runs, 35 RBI and eight doubles … Reached base at a .385 clip and slugged .424 … Scored 21 times and drew 19 walks … Recorded just one error with 318 putouts and 26 assists for a .997 fielding percentage … Helped the Aggies upset then-No. 5 Oregon at the Mary Nutter Classic by driving in the tying run and scoring on an error (2/23) … Drove in a season-high three RBI on four occasions … Tied her career high for hits in a game with two twice … Scored two times in the NCAA College Station Regional Championships against Baylor (5/20).
2017 (JUNIOR): Appeared and started in all 60 games including 52 behind the plate … Voted to the NFCA All-South Region First Team by the region’s head coaches … Hit .315 on the season as one of four Aggies to start every game … Reached base at a .434 clip drawing 31 walks and striking out just 13 times … Topped the team with 18 doubles and was third on the team with 51 hits … Went deep for the first time in the 2017 campaign against Missouri State (2/17) going 2-for-3 with three runs driven in ... Had a season high five RBI in a 2-for-2 day against Georgetown where she hit her second dinger … Hit 3-for-4 with a pair of runs in the win over Missouri (3/24) … Reached base safely in every game in May as a part of a 12-game on-base streak … Hit her third long ball of the season in the opener against Georgia (4/21) … Reached base 6-of-11 times at the plate in the three games of Regional play in College Station.
2016 (SOPHOMORE): Named to the All-SEC First Team and NFCA All-Region Second Team ... Started at catcher in 58 games … Hit .359 with 10 home runs, 58 RBI and 10 doubles … Led the conference in RBI with 31 and tied for the team lead in batting average at .403 in SEC games only … Named SEC Player of the Week after going 7-for-10 with 10 RBI against Arkansas … Drove in a career-high six runs in Sunday’s contest against the Razorbacks … Was a perfect 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts.
2015 (FRESHMAN): Saw playing time in 58 games, making 56 starts as a true freshman … Scored 16 runs on 42 hits, including three home runs and a team-high 14 doubles … Held a slugging percentage of .409 and on-base percentage of .351.
Previous Athletic Experience
Walters was a state finalist for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award as a four-year letterman in five different varsity sports at Center Point High School. As a member of the Pirate softball team, the catcher was named to the 2013 San Antonio Express-News Super Team and was named the school’s MVP for the past three seasons. Walters is a three-time TGCA All-State selection and was the District 29-1A Co-MVP in 2012 and 2013. The two-time All-Hill Country Team MVP broke the CPHS home run record as a junior with 19 bombs and led Center Point to a 2012 district championship. In 2011, Walters was named the District 29-1A Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman, leading CPHS to a Region Semi-Finalist finish. She played summer ball for the Texas Blaze Gold. The all-around athlete also excelled in volleyball, basketball, powerlifting and track & field, winning school MVP awards for all five sports, along with numerous other state and district accolades.
