Mohammad Nourani

Mohammad Nourani is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach, he will work directly with assistant coach Sean Brady.
Nourani comes to Aggieland after spending the 2021 outdoor season at UT-Dallas as a volunteer assistant, a division III university in the American Southwest Conference. Under the guidance of Danielle Kcholi, he served as the lead coach for sprints, hurdles and jumps, while serving as the main recruiting coach for his events. In the program's inaugural track & field season, Nourani guided Muaaz Makda to an appearance in the 400m finals at the ASC Championships and coached high jumper Mackenzie Salmonson to a top five performance in conference action.
Diversifying his coaching skillset, Nourani assisted with the middle distance and cross country event groups. In 2021, the Comets produced conference champions in the 800m, 1500m and 10,000m, while the men's cross country team claimed the ASC championship and women finished runner-up.
Before entering the collegiate coaching world, Nourani spent time coaching at ALTIS in Phoenix, Arizona. While there he spent time training multiple professionals such as Paul Dedewo, Courtney Okolo, Anaso Jobodwana, Aries Merritt and others.
A standout athlete himself, Nourani competed at UT-Dallas from 2012-16. While competing he was a two-time south/southwest regional cross country qualifier and was a three-time academic all-conference member. In track & field, Nourani competed in a wide range of running events from the 110m hurdles to the 10,000m. He also competed in the long jump and triple jump.
Nourani obtained a bachelor of science, mechanical engineering degree in 2016 and he completed his master of business administraion in 2019. He has been an employee at NASA since 2017
