Kristi Mejias serves as Executive Associate Athletics Director for Strategic Planning and is the department's Senior Woman Administrator.
In her role, Mejias oversees engagement, conduct, policies and procedures and strategic planning as well as serving as a liaison to the University for Title IX and civil rights matters. She also is team administrator for the women's basketball and volleyball programs.
Kristi has worked in the department for 14 years, most recently as Assistant Athletics Director for Academic Services for the last three seasons. In that position, Mejias oversaw all first-year experience initiatives for the Athletics Department, served as the primary liaison for all international student-athletes, and chaired the Department’s Awards Committee in addition to advising the student-athletes from the sports of men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s tennis and equestrian teams during her time in the Center for Student-Athlete Services. Since 2016, she has worked directly with the Office of Extended Orientation to establish a partnership with Fish Camp and Aggie Transition Camp and helped create and advise Traditions Night—A Student-Athlete’s First Tradition. She began her time in Aggieland as a Tutor Coordinator in the Center for Student-Athlete Services, spending three years in that role. After five years as a scholastic supervisor, Mejias was promoted to Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Engagement--a role she held until 2021.
During her time at A&M, Mejias was recognized and rewarded for her contributions to both the Athletics Department and greater University community. Her accolades include: Texas A&M Athletics NCAA Women’s Development Grant Recipient (2024), Texas A&M University’s President’s Meritorious Service Award Winner (2023), Texas A&M University’s Women’s Progress Award Winner (2018), and Texas A&M University’s Ed Guthrie Advising Award (2017). She holds memberships with the National Association of Athletic Advisors & Student-Athlete Engagement Professionals (N4A) and Women Leaders in Sports, and has served as a consultant for the NCAA providing guidance on best practices for supporting international student-athletes.
A native of Carrollton, Georgia, Mejias earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Georgia and worked as a recruiting graduate assistant in the UGA football office. In her spare time, she is an avid sports fan, enjoys traveling, and spending time with family.
