Jan 15, 2026 | Women's Tennis
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women's tennis team opens its regular season Friday, hosting Tulane and Lubbock Christian in a doubleheader at the Mitchell Tennis Center, before welcoming Sam Houston and Air Force Sunday. Match time for both twin bills are 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The Aggies look to continue their 71-match winning streak at home which began Feb. 12, 2021, in a 7-0 sweep versus Utah. The Maroon & White finished last season with a 16-0 record at the Mitchell Tennis Center, rounded out with a 4-2 victory over No. 17 UCLA in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Maroon & White have limited history with Tulane but has controlled the series, sweeping the Green Wave 7-0 at home in the lone meeting in 2023.
Friday's match against Lubbock Christian marks the first meeting between the teams. Texas A&M also faces Air Force for the first time in program history Sunday.
The Aggies boast an 11-0 all-time record against Sam Houston, last defeating the Bearkats 7-0 in 2025.
No. 34 Mia Kupres led the Maroon & White during the fall, capped by a Round of 32 run at the NCAA Singles Championship. Kupres also found success in doubles, pairing with Daria Smetannikov as the No. 57-ranked duo in the country and a fall season that earned them a spot in the NCAA Doubles Championship. Illinois transfer Violeta Martinez also claimed a spot in the NCAA Singles Championship after a quarterfinal playoff victory at the ITA Central Sectionals.
