Zach Jackson fanned 11 and John Infante went 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead No. 14 Texas A&M past Missouri Saturday in front of 5,004 fans at Olsen Field.
Jackson improved to 8-3, allowing one run on seven hits in 7.1 innings of work.
With the win, the Aggies improved to 33-12 overall and to 9-8 in Big 12 play. Missouri dropped to 24-16-1 and 4-10.
The Aggies used a Tiger miscue to score the game's first run in the bottom of the first to take the early lead. Coby Mavroulis singled with one out and advanced to second on a groundout by Austin Boggs. Cory Patton hit a sharp ground ball that was misplayed by shortstop Gary Arndt, allowing Mavroulis to score.
Infante lined the first pitch he saw from Missouri starter Erik Dessau over the wall in left to make the score 2-0. It was the third homer of the season for Infante.
A&M tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the fourth to run its lead to 6-0. Patton led off with his seventh home run of the season and his fifth in the last six games. Craig Stinson singled and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Justin Ruggiano. Infante doubled to plate Stinson and Travis Bartek walked. Matt Alexander's grounder was booted by first baseman Cody Ehlers, who then made a second error on the play with an errant throw to the pitcher covering first. The wild throw allowed Infante and Bartek to score.
Missouri finally got to Jackson in the top of the seventh for one run to make the score 6-1. Jeremy Hernandez singled home Kyle Johnson, who also singled earlier in the inning and advance to second when Cosme Caballero walked.
The Aggies responded with another run in the bottom of the seventh to regain their six-run advantage. Matt Alexander and Cliff Pennington started the innings with singles and moved up a base on a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by Mavroulis. A wild pitch by Mizzou reliever Taylor parker allowed Alexander to trot home.
Dessau (6-4) suffered the loss, allowing six runs - three earned - on six hits.
Kyle Nicholson pitched 1.2 scoreless innings to finish the game for the Aggies.
The series finale is set for 1 p.m. this Sunday at Olsen Field.
