
Aggies Drop Game Two to Cowboys, 7-2

Oklahoma State used a four-run third to cruise to a 7-2 win over No. 9 Texas A&M before 1,872 fans at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
With the loss, the Aggies fell to 25-8 overall and to 3-5 in Big 12 play. The Cowboys improved to 20-10 and to 3-2 in league action.
After two and a half scoreless innings, Oklahoma State exploded for four runs in the bottom of the third off A&M starting pitcher Zach Jackson. With one out and a runner on second Rusty Ryal reached on a throwing error by shortstop Cliff Pennington. Josh Fields then singled to plate Rod Allen and Jason Jarmillo singled to score Ryal. Fields scored and Jarmillo advanced to second when left fielder Andrew Baldwin misplayed Jarmillo's single. Scott Kirby drove in the final run of the inning with a double down the line in right.
John Infante's two run home run - his second of the season - cut the OSU lead to two runs. The longball also plated Coby Mavroulis who singled earlier in the inning.
The Cowboys stretched their lead to 7-2 with a run in the bottom of the third and two more in the seventh.
All seven runs were charged to Jackson (6-2), who lasted 6.1 innings and allowed eight hits while striking out seven.
Spencer Grogan (7-1) turned in the second straight complete game for OSU. He allowed 10 hits but coaxed the Aggies into three double plays to get out of jams.
For the game, the Aggies outhit the Cowboys, 10-8. Leading the way was Erik Schindewolf, Mavroulis and Cory Patton.
The final game of the series will be played on Sunday. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
