POSTGAME QUOTES
TEXAS A&M HEAD COACH GARY BLAIR
On the game ?...
?I thought our three freshman got quality minutes from the ballgame. We played so well defensively. They were giving us some easy baskets, but the second half was sluggish. Why was it sluggish? We got beat on penetration for the entire second half. I thought the whole flow of the second half was off, but we just have to adjust and have to make our free throws. It?™s been a long four and a half months since our Europe trip and I think our kids are tired. We will use the holiday break to spend time with our families and enjoy the time off from basketball.?
On Delaware State ?...
?I give them credit at halftime. He (Delaware State head coach Ed Davis) got his kids to play harder in the second half. Delaware State just wasn?™t going to roll over.?
SOPHOMORE GUARD/FORWARD DANIELLE GANT
On the game and her new role in the starting lineup ?...
?Starting is really not a big difference from coming off the bench for me. I am still going to go out and rebound, score and help the team anyway I can. Tonight, our game plan on defense was to come out and not let them score in the paint at all.?
FRESHMAN GUARD ADRIAN McGOWEN
On the second half ?...
?Our coaches stressed to continue to move the ball and we got it together in the second half. We ran our offense ok, but we have to continue to move the ball and get better. Compared to high school, the game is more of a fast-paced game. You have to be on your feet for the entire 40 minutes. On the college level, you have to play on both ends.?
FRESHMAN FORWARD KATRINA LIMBAHA
On her second career start and scoring a career-high 12 points?...
?This was my second start and I was able to step up a little bit. But, I think I need to improve on my defense. I was a little bit more confident out there tonight. The college game is a lot different from high school. It is more athletic and physical, but a lot more exciting.?
