Austin Creps, Jason Meyer and Hart Hering combined for a shutout on Sunday afternoon to lead Texas A&M to a 2-0 win over Northern Colorado before 3,043 at Olsen Field.

Creps (1-0) lasted 7.1 innings, scattering five hits and striking out four. Hering retired three of the four batters he faced in the ninth to earn his third save of the season.

With the win and the series sweep, the Aggies moved to 7-0 while Northern Colorado dropped to 2-5.

The Aggie pitching staff has not allowed a run in 22 innings. Northern Colorado had not been shutout for two straight games since 1986 (944 games).

?I thought Austin (Creps) did a great job today pitching off his fastball,? A&M head coach Rob Childress said. ?Jason (Meyer) and Hart (Hering) did a great job of getting the outs they needed to finish the game. We are going to get it going offensively. Right now we are just fighting through it as a team and finding a way to get it done any way we can.?

Jose Salazar delivered a clutch two-out double down the left-field line to score Craig Stinson from second in the bottom of the third to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead. Stinson singled to start the inning and moved to second on a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by Jess Buenger.

The Aggies scored their second run of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Salazar singled and moved to second on Adam Hale?™s bunt single. Spencer Jackson lifted a fly ball to center, allowing Salazar to move to third. Adam Hale got caught in a run-down between first and second after being picked off, and Salazar was able to cross the plate before Hale was tagged out on the play.

Meyer entered the game with one out and a runner on second in the eighth. He retired both men he faced to keep the

UNC starter Seth Gilleland (1-1) was the tough-luck loser, tossing all eight innings and allowing just two runs on six hits.

The Aggies return to action this Tuesday, February 21, when they play Texas-Arlington. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Clay Gould Ballpark in Arlington.
