TEXAS A&M POSTGAME QUOTE AND NOTES
Coach Mark Turgeon: "I was very pleased with the game tonight. I thought they were a good team when I watched them on film. We were a little nervous coming into the game. I was disappointed with the defense in the beginning. Sloan played at another level tonight. Josh was able to get the open looks for the threes. What we saw tonight is a taste of what I get to see every day in practice. A lot of guys are doing well in practice but it is not carrying over to the games. Our guys like playing with each other. They know they are good. We worked a lot on our transition offense and it showed tonight. I do not like to run up the score so when we are up like that, you will see me start subbing pretty early."
Senior Forward/Guard Josh Carter: "We started off sloppy on defense, but coach told us to pick it up.This is the first time that we have done what we are capable of for extended periods of time throughout the game. It was great to see some guys come off the bench toward the end of the game. They work really hard to get us ready for the next game so we enjoy seeing them get out there and play. It's great to be tied with Bernard King for the (career three-point field goal) record. He was a great player and it is an honor to be up there with him."
Junior Guard Bryan Davis really got us fired up and going."
