COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Jason Krizan's eighth-inning home run would prove to be the difference as Dallas Baptist out-slugged No. 15 Texas A&M, 11-10, Friday night before 3,600 fans at Olsen Field.

Krizan stepped to the plate in a 10-10 game after the Aggies had erased a four-run deficit in their previous at-bat, and the DBU designated hitter launched a 1-0 pitch over the fence in right to give the Patriots back the lead. A&M got the tying run on in the eighth and the possible game-winning run on base in the ninth, but was unable to capitalize.

The loss snapped a four-game win streak for the Aggies (30-16), while Dallas Baptist improved to 32-12 in evening the series at one apiece. The teams combined for seven home runs and 12 extra-base hits on the night.

Trevor Head drove in the game's first run with a two-out RBI double in the second. In the third, Travis Meiners would hit a solo shot to left center and Krizan added an RBI double.

The Aggies would answer by scoring six unanswered runs to take their first lead of the night. In the third, Caleb Shofner launched a three-run homer deep over the fence in left, and Brodie Greene followed with another three-run shot to left in the fourth to put A&M up 6-3.

The Patriots would score the next seven runs in the game to take a 10-6 lead into the last of the seventh. The big blow in that stretch was a Ryan Goins grand slam in the sixth that gave DBU a three-run lead at 9-6.

Luke Anders would cut the lead to three in the seventh with a sacrifice fly to left. Then, down 10-7 with two outs in the frame, Joe Patterson stepped to the plate as the tying run. The Aggie designated hitter quickly fell behind in the count and fouled off six two-strike pitches before, on the 11th pitch of the at-bat, launched his sixth home run of the year over the fence in left center to knot the game at 10.

Krizan then delivered the game-winner in the next half-inning.

A&M pitching issued four walks on the night, with three coming around to score. Estevan Uriegas (1-1) suffered the loss after giving up the Krizan home run. He allowed two hits in one inning of relief. Starter Ross Hales gave up seven hits, five runs and two walks over 4 1/3 while fanning three.

For DBU, the win went to reliever Michael Smith (5-0), who issued three hits, four runs (all earned) and three walks while striking out three over four innings. Ryan Behmanesh picked up his second save of the year with a hitless ninth despite hitting a pair of batters.

Greene, Shofner and Patterson each drove in three runs for the Aggies, while Shofner, Brooks Raley had two hits apiece. Krizan (3-for-5, 3 RBI) and Austin Knight (3-for-4) had big nights at the plate for DBU to go along with Goins' grand slam.

Saturday's series finale is the annual "Military Appreciation Day" at Olsen Field with first pitch set for 2:05 p.m. All veterans are invited to attend and each will get two free tickets to the game. Additional tickets for family and/or friends can be purchased for $4. Those veterans attending the game that wish to participate in pre-game ceremonies are asked to arrive by 1:15 p.m.

In addition, there will be a youth clinic featuring the Aggie coaches and players on the field for all kids 12 and under following the game.

POSTGAME NOTES

• Luke Anders' seventh-inning sacrifice fly gave him 146 RBIs for his career, tying him for eighth on A&M's all-time charts with Buddy Haney (1982-85).

• Ryan Goins' sixth-inning grand slam was the first allowed by Aggie pitching in nearly two years...the last opponent to hit one was DBU's Evan Bigley, on May 3, 2007, in an 11-10 Texas A&M win.

• Former Texas A&M pitcher Robert Ray (2003-05) was called up earlier this week by the Toronto Blue Jays and will make his major league debut on Saturday when he takes the mound at Rogers Centre against the Baltimore Orioles...the game will start at 12:07 p.m. (CDT) and will air in local markets (Rogers SportsNet in Toronto and MASN in Baltimore), but will be blacked out nationally due to FOX Saturday baseball restrictions...Ray will become the 46th Aggie to play in the big leagues.

• Game-time temperature was 84 degrees with sunny skies and winds blowing out to center at 17 miles per hour (gusting to 23).
