IRVING, Texas - Texas A&M's Jeff Dadamo (Tampa, Fla.) was tabbed Big 12 Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played between March 12-14 as announced by the league office on Thursday.
It marked the first career weekly honor for the junior transfer from the University of Florida who has compiled a team-leading 16-6 overall record and 7-3 mark in dual match play this season. Dadamo is currently ranked No. 30 nationally in the latest Campbell/ITA singles rankings. He topped No. 59-ranked Christoffer Konigsfeldt in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, to lead the Aggies to a 5-2 upset of No. 11 California on March 12.
In doubles action, Dadamo and junior All-American Austin Krajicek (Brandon, Fla.), ranked No. 9 in the country, also beat No. 30-ranked Jonathan Dahan and Pedro Zerbini, 8-2, to help the Aggies claim the doubles point versus the Golden Bears. The win over Cal marked A&M's third victory over a top-15 ranked opponent over the last two years at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station.
Dadamo has defeated eight nationally-ranked opponents this season and won back-to-back singles matches versus ranked opponents from Cal and No. 3 Ohio State on March 7.
