COLLEGE STATION, TX - The 14th-ranked Texas A&M men's tennis team swept a pair of matches on Sunday by identical 6-1 scores as the Aggies beat 36th-ranked LSU and UTA before a crowd of 397 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.
"The first match against LSU came down to a tiebreak for the doubles point at the No. 2 line and Junior Ore and Alexey Grigorov gave us some momentum," Aggie head coach Steve Denton said. "We got after it pretty well in singles and the last two guys on the court really battled."
"Tonight, UTA came out and took the doubles point and our players had to respond and I thought they came out and overcame adversity on a long day and played very well. I believe we took every set in singles," Denton added.
The wins improve the Aggies' overall record to 9-3 on the season. LSU falls to 3-5 while UTA falls to 3-4.
