
Women's Golf Shoots School Record 13-Under-Par At Alamo Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- Texas A&M women's golf team shot 13-under par in the final round of the Alamo Invitational, the lowest single-round score relative to par in school history. All five Aggies in the lineup shot under par on Briggs Ranch Golf Club in the tournament's third round.
Relative to par, the Aggies had never shot more than seven strokes under par, accomplished last season at the Alamo Invitational, until the Aggies went 13-under on the par 72, 6,428 yard course on Tuesday.
The Aggies finished the 15-team event with a total score of 852 (-12), good for fourth place. The Aggies have finished third or fourth in all three of their tournaments so far this season. The Aggies were two strokes behind third-place Auburn (850/-14) and four strokes behind second-place Arkansas (848/-16). LSU won the event with a score of 841 (-23). Auburn's Sophia Schubert was the event's medalist, finishing with a final score of 204 (-12).
A&M's Maddie Szeryk and Marijosse Navarro both finished the tournament shooting 210 (-6), and tied for fourth place. For Szeryk, who shot a 68 (-4), her sixth round to break 70 this season, it was her third top five finish in her third collegiate tournament. Navarro shot a 69 (-3) on the tournament's final day to post her best finish of the season, and the fourth top five finish in her career.
Andrea Jonama shot a five-under 67, the Aggies' best score on their record-breaking day, to finished the tournament with a 213 (-3). Jonama's career-best round helped her finish the tournament in a tie for 11th place.
Thanya Pattamakijsakul and Bianca Fabrizio both shot a 71 (-1) on the tournament's final day to round out A&M's lineup. Pattamakijsakul finished the tournament in a tie for 37th with an overall score of 221 (+5), while Fabrizio's final round, which matched her career-low, put her one shot behind in a tie for 44th with a 222 (+6) total. Callie Scheffler also competed in the event as an individual, shooting a 74 (+2) on Tuesday for a tournament total of 231 (+15) and a tie for 70th place.
The Aggies return to action on Sunday, November 2 for the three-day Jim West Challenge at Tapatio Springs, in San Marcos, Texas.
