
Trocha-Morelos Certified Eligible by the NCAA

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The NCAA and Texas A&M reached final eligibility certification for freshman center Tonny Trocha-Morelos on Saturday, allowing the 6-foot-10 center to compete on the court for the Aggies.
Trocha-Morelos will officially don the Maroon & White for the first time at 1 p.m. (CT) Sunday when the Aggies take on New Mexico on the final day of the 2014 Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The contest will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
A long and athletic post, Trocha-Morelos made a big impression during the summer of 2012 when he played for the Colombian U18 Team at the FIBA Americas in Brazil, averaging 16 points and 10.2 rebounds per contest, both team-highs.
Additionally, Trocha-Morelos played for Team Latin America at the 2012 ADIDAS Nations tournament where he led all players in blocked shots.
The Cartagena, Colombia, native was a highly-prized prospect who received a four-star rating by Rivals.com and was recruited by Arizona, Kentucky, Ohio State, Oregon, Providence and UCLA, among others.
