
Aggies Continue Play at SEC Fall Classic and Rice Fall Invitational

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's tennis team competed in Florida and Texas at both the prestigious SEC Fall Classic in Gainesville, Florida and at the Rice Fall invitational in Houston, Texas throughout the day on Saturday.
Junior Shane Vinsant and freshman AJ Catanzariti moved on to the semi-finals of the doubles draw with an 8-5 win over Josh Wardell and Oliver Landert of Florida. The A&M duo will face another pair from the host-Gators for a spot in the finals, Gordon Watson and Diego Hidalgo.
All three Aggies that remained in the singles draw suffered defeat. Vinsant was defeated by Andrew Schafer and junior Jordan Szabo fell to Kyle Koch, both of South Carolina. Catanzariti suffered his first defeat in the maroon and white at the hands of William Kallberg of Ole Miss.
Junior Jeremy Efferding rebounded from a difficult first day with a pair of wins in the consolation bracket. The Florida native defeated Juan Marino of Arkansas and Baker Newman of Vanderbilt.
Freshman Jett Cash and senior Max Montague were defeated in the first round of the doubles bracket at the Rice Invitational. Both players also suffered their second loss in singles play bowing out of the consolation bracket.
