No. 11 Women's Golf Takes On Alamo Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The No. 11 Texas A&M women's golf team goes back to one of its favorite courses for the Alamo Invitational at Briggs Ranch Golf Club from October 25-27.
The Aggies, who trail only Southern California this season in stroke average, have finished in the top five of all three tournaments they have played in 2015-16, and have finished in the top five in 14 of the 15 tournaments they have played since the start of 2014-15.
The Aggie lineup consists of Maddie Szeryk (12th), Bianca Fabrizio (T-35th), Andrea Jonama (T-68th), Thanya Pattamakijsakul (T-68th) and Callie Scheffler (83rd), all who rank in the Top 100 nationally in stroke average. In addition, Chloe Velasco tees off as an individual in the event at the par 72 / 6,428 yard course.
The tournament features four of A&M's SEC rivals—No. 3 Arkansas, No. 16 Florida, LSU and Mississippi State. Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma, SMU, TCU, Texas State, Texas State, Tulane and Wisconsin join hosts UTSA to round out the field.
Three of A&M's four best 54-hole tournament scores have come at Briggs Ranch, including a then-school record 12-under par at the 2014 Alamo Invitational, highlighted by a final-round 275 (-13), which stands as a school record.
The Aggies have finished in the top five of each tournament they have played at Briggs Ranch since 2009, including fourth place finishes in the 2014 Alamo Invitational and the 2015 NCAA San Antonio Regional last season. In the Aggies' last four outings at Briggs Ranch, they have finished the tournament under par.
