LAS VEGAS – Texas A&M sophomore Domenica Gonzalez won the Flight 3 singles title today at the Rebel Tennis Women's Invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the UNLV campus, bringing the Aggies' fall season to a close.

Seniors Rutuja Bhosale and Stefania Hristov and junior Eva Paalma also competed in the tournament, and the Aggies finished with a combined 11-6 record.

"The UNLV Rebel Invite proved to be another step forward for our tennis team," Texas A&M head coach Mark Weaver said. "Early in the fall, we had plenty of injuries that we all have had to cope with as a group, and I couldn't be happier with how we have managed each individual situation and the progress that was made in the last 10 weeks or so. We are closing out the fall season healthy and playing very good as a group, so there really isn't much more that I could ask for at this point.

"Domenica winning her flight in the singles was very impressive considering she came into this tournament having only played one singles match since the 4-3 cliffhanger back in May in the NCAA tournament with the eventual national champion Stanford. Her results in Las Vegas really speak to the competitor that she is and the high level of skill and talent that she possesses."

Gonzalez also played for the Flight 2 doubles championship with Paalma, but the Aggie tandem fell to Paola Artiga and Anna Bogoslavets of UNLV, 8-6.
