A&M notched its first-ever victory against the Wildcats at Memorial Coliseum, fighting off two set points in the opening frame and also overcoming an 18-9 deficit in the third set and a 23-19 fourth-set deficit to post a thrilling 30-28, 14-25, 25-23, 26-24 victory over then-20th-ranked and SEC leader Kentucky.
