COLLEGE STATION – The No. 15/13 Texas A&M men's basketball team faces a tough road challenge Wednesday night when the Aggies travel to Coleman Coliseum to battle Alabama in a 6 p.m. SEC match-up.
The contest will be nationally televised on SEC Network with Mike Morgan calling the play-by-play and Joe Dean providing color commentary. Additionally, radio coverage will be provided on the Aggie Sports Network, which can be heard locally in the Bryan/College Station area on WTAW (1620 AM).
The Aggies (18-5; 7-3) enter the week attempting to regain their spot atop the SEC standings after suffering back-to-back losses for the first time this season. Texas A&M is currently tied for second in the league standings alongside Kentucky and South Carolina, while LSU is a game ahead of the pack with an 8-2 league record.
Texas A&M and LSU will square off in Baton Rouge on Saturday afternoon.
In the most recent edition of the national rankings which were reveled Monday, Texas A&M is slotted at No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 13 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll.
During their most recent outing, the Aggies were led by seniors Danuel House and Alex Caruso who each contributed a team-best 16 points. House is starting to regain the shooting touch that helped him garner first team All-SEC honors a year ago as the Fresno, Texas, native has converted on 48.9 percent of his shot attempts, including a 42.3 percent clip from 3-point range, while averaging a team-leading 17.5 point during the last four games.
Caruso has also stepped his game up during the last two weeks by averaging 11.5 points per outing while shooting 53.3 percent from the floor during his last four games. The College Station native also has 23 assists and 10 steals during the stretch.
Freshman D.J. Hogg turned heads during Saturday's contest against South Carolina, grabbing a team-best seven boards while adding seven points on 3-of-5 shooting.
Alabama (13-9; 4-6 SEC), meanwhile, seeks to continue their winning ways on their home court at Coleman Coliseum where the Crimson Tide is 8-3 this season under first-year head coach Avery Johnson.
The Aggies will also aim for a measure of revenge in the contest as they were swept by Alabama in two regular season meetings a year ago, including a 61-60 win over Texas A&M at Reed Arena on the regular season's final day.
