
Aggie Men’s Tennis Hosts Florida and Nicholls State

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 8 Texas A&M men's tennis team (12-3) is set to host Florida (6-3) and Nicolls State (1-7) at the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station at noon (CT) and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Players in the ITA Rankings
Texas A&M enters the match with a trio of ranked singles players, led by No. 13 Arthur Rinderknech. Rinderknech earned the highest initial spring ranking for an Aggie on record back in January. Additionally, the Paris, France native has been the highest-ranked SEC player in each ranking this spring. The Frenchman stands at 18-6 this year, including a team-high six wins over ranked opponents.
Senior Shane Vinsant brings a No. 53 ranking into the matchup. The Keller, Texas native is currently 14-8 on the season, trailing Rinderknech with five wins against ranked foes. Vinsant has earned All-SEC recognition each of the last two seasons, along with the 2014 SEC Tournament MVP honors. A season ago Vinsant was named an All-American alongside classmate Harrison Adams after earning a final No. 10 ranking in the doubles poll.
Sophomore Jordi Arconada was ranked No. 103 last week by the ITA, the first time the Buenos Aires native has been ranked in his collegiate career. The right-hander is 13-8 on the season, including an impressive straight set victory over then 16th-ranked Hugo Di Feo of Ohio State at the ITA Indoor Championships last month.
In addition to the three ranked singles players, the Aggies enlist a trio of ranked doubles teams. No. 23 Rinderknech and Vinsant, No. 31 Rinderknech and Jackson Withrow and the 59th ranked pair of Jordi Arconada and Max Lunkin. Rinderknech and Withrow are 8-2 this season, with a 3-2 mark against ranked teams. Arconada and Lunkin are 9-3 this season, with a 6-2 dual record and one win over a ranked doubles team under their belt.
Florida enter play with five ranked singles players; No. 22 Elliott Orkin, No. 30 Chase Perez-Blanco, No. 50 Diego Hidalgo, No. 77 Alfredo Perez and No. 124 Joshua Wardell. Additionally, the Gators bring the No. 1 ranked doubles team of Hidalgo and Gordon Watson, along with No. 32 Maxx Lipman and Orkin.

The No. 8 Texas A&M men's tennis team opened Southeastern Conference play with a 6-1 win at Auburn Friday afternoon at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Ala. The maroon and white opened play capturing the doubles point for the 12th time in 15 matches this spring.
The All-American senior duo of Harrison Adams and Shane Vinsant picked up a 6-2 win over Conner Huertas and Brandon Laubser followed by a 6-3 win from No. 31 Arthur Rinderknech and Jackson Withrow over No. 52 Marko Krickovic and Edward Nguyen to claim the day's first point.
The Aggies maintained the momentum on the day picking up four-of-six first sets. No. 53 Vinsant put the Aggies ahead 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Maxime Hinnisdaels on court two followed by freshman Aleksandre Bakshi defeating Laubser 7-5, 6-1 to push the A&M lead to 3-0. The Tigers claimed their lone point of the day as Joseph Van Dooren topped sophomore AJ Catanzariti 6-4, 6-3 on court five.
The match was clinched as Adams defeated Dante Saleh 6-2, 6-4. The New Braunfels native improved to 4-2 this spring with 64 wins in his career in College Station. No. 106 Jordi Arconada picked up his first win as a ranked player, besting Huertas 6-3, 7-5 followed by No. 13 Rinderknech outlasting Krickovic 4-6, 6-1, 1-0(4) on court one.
