Texas A&M’s Hristov Named to SEC Women’s Tennis Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas A&M's Stefania Hristov has been named to the 2015-16 SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team, the Southeastern Conference announced today. It is the second consecutive appearance on the team by the senior from Iasi, Romania.
The Community Service Team recognizes the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, highlighting a student-athlete from each school who gives back to her community in superior service efforts.
All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003.
The complete 2015-16 SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team is as follows:
Danielle Spielmann • Alabama
Junior • Riehen, Switzerland
Has been involved with Habitat for Humanity since September of 2013. Also participated in the "Reading to Children" program. Volunteered her time at the Kentuck Festival of Art and made numerous visits to the Capstone Village Retirement Community, a local assisted living community in Tuscaloosa.
Flavia Araujo • Arkansas

Has over 100 hours of service in 3 years in Fayetteville. Her project include: Yvonne Richardson Community Center Volunteer, Canned Food Drive Recruiter, Sweat Hogs / Book Hogs Speaker, Buddy Walk Assistant, with Down Syndrome Connection of NWA, MDA Muscle Walk Assistant, Cooperative Emergency Outreach Provider / Assistant, Recess Instructor at Butterfield Trail Elementary School, Senior Prom Coordinator with Fayetteville Health & Rehab, Nursing Home Visitor and Fit Fun Run Coordinator at Vandergriff Elementary.

Tutored children at Dean Road Elementary School Fall 2015 and Spring 2016. Served as liaison between Auburn Athletes and the Dean Road Elementary school to arrange tutor opportunities. Participated in handing out candy/signing autographs at Downtown Trick or Treat in October. Stuffed backpacks of food with the Jason Dufner Foundation. Assisted in planning annual Student-Athlete Day for local elementary school students. Assisted in planning annual Toys for Tots Drive. Assisted in planning annual Beat Bama Food Drive and volunteered at Lee County Humane Society
Brianna Morgan • Florida
Senior • Beverly Hills, Calif.
Has volunteered with Gator Move, Baby Gators Field Day, Caleb's Pitch, and Miracle on Main Street. Has also participated in pediatrics visits, a visit to Lincoln Middle School and mentoring at Hidden Oak.
Caroline Brinson • Georgia
Junior • New Orleans, La.
Has committed much of her time to volunteering since arriving on campus in 2013. An active participant in many worthy causes in her three years in Athens, Brinson has devoted three years to the Special Olympics baseball game. This year she also became involved with the Special Olympics Prom, Relay For Life date night auction, Barrow Elementary one mile run and in toiletry collection for Project Safe. Brinson has also been involved with the End It movement to end slavery worldwide. She also has participated in Habitat for Humanity events and has contributed to the Salvation Army Christmas Angel toy drive the last two years.
Kate Lanier • Kentucky
Senior • Clarksville, Ga.
Has logged more than 100 hours of community service this past year, starting with a summer trip to Ethiopia. She has spent multiple days working with Cats Cultivating Character, and has also helped out with Wiltmore Elementary School. Over the winter holiday, Lanier participated in Salvation Army bell ringing and was a volunteer for Breakfast with Santa. Other volunteer activities during her time at UK include serving food to the homeless at Hope Center and participating in the UK Hospital Blanket Project.
Ella Taylor • LSU
Senior • Guernsey, Channel Islands
Volunteered with a Pre-K class at a local elementary school three times a week. . Assisted the teacher with reading, math and other classroom activities as well as in the cafeteria and at recess. Attended the annual Halloween Boozar and Thanksgiving with the Tigers with her teammates during the fall. Attended two events that were set up for children who suffer from Sickle Cell disease (one was Ice cream sundaes and the other was a bowling event) and through these events she was able to serve as a mentor to some of the children. In the weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays she attended Cancer Services annual Christmas party where she helped hand out gifts to the children and also interact with them throughout the party.

Participated in the South Carolina Drive for flood disaster relief and ran in the St. Jude Marathon in honor of a former professor's granddaughter.

Is an active member of the M-club. Brown volunteered at Chick-Fil-A Family Night sponsored by Bully's Kid's Club. She has visited local schools with the Reading Railroad with the Junior Auxiliary of Starkville. Just recently she was a part of Breakfast of Champions, where the team went and ate breakfast with students at the local elementary school. During the fall she dedicated time to the United We Feed Food Drive.
Cassidy Spearman • Missouri
Junior • Laguna Niguel, Calif.
Has volunteered with Thompson Center for Autism, the Mid-Missouri Food Bank, Caleb's Pitch and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Has also participated in a blanket drive and a tennis clinic in Columbia. Other activities include Mizzou Moves, Tiger Treat, Starlight Reading and Girl Scout Love Yourself Day.
Caroline Dailey • South Carolina
Sophomore • Sarasota, Fla.
Volunteered in the Lake Katherine neighborhood following October's massive flooding where she assisted in cleaning and boxing items for residents who were forced to move out of their homes. Also raised money and donations for flood victims at the Harvest Hope Food Bank and Red Cross. Worked with Meals on Wheels to deliver packaged meals to seniors' homes. Also worked as a cashier at a food booth at a Greek Food Festival in Columbia. Participated in National Girls and Women in Sports Day by attending a meet and greet at a South Carolina women's basketball game.
Ashlee Boles • Tennessee
Junior • Murfreesboro, Tenn.
With 136 total hours logged so far this year, she has spent numerous days giving back to the community of East Tennessee and truly embodies what it means to be a Volunteer. While volunteering at the Central Veterinary Hospital, Boles has accumulated 96 hours from that alone. She has also helped with different events such as Goals for Girls, Animal Works and Tennessee's annual VOLoween. Boles and co-head coach Sonia Hahn-Patrick have made several trips to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where the two take service dogs to patients at the hospital.

Has been the women's tennis team Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative each of the last two seasons and helped the organization with its annual Aggies CAN food drive, the largest student-athlete run canned food drive in the nation. Has volunteered with the local Brazos Valley CASA chapter, assisting with the training sessions for volunteers. In addition, she and other teammates have spoken to local elementary school students about the importance of nutrition, exercising and keeping fit.
Courtney Colton • Vanderbilt
Senior • Davie, Fla.
Throughout this year has student taught in schools around the Nashville area, assisting children in reading and math instruction. Colton created and implemented behavior intervention plan for students, and a behavior management plan for one of her classes at Vanderbilt. Colton has also volunteered at Eakin Elementary School, helping out with their family fit nights. Through her time at Vandy Colton has been a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, here she assisted in the organization and planning of the department's annual Christmas party and field day for elementary schools around Nashville.
Texas A&M (15-9, 7-6 SEC), heads to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this week to compete in the 2016 SEC Women's tennis Tournament at the LSU Tennis Complex. The Aggies are the No. 6 seed and open tournament play Thursday at 10 a.m. against the winner between No. 11 seed Missouri and No. 14 seed Alabama.
