COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies host the Illinois Fighting Illini Sunday with a shutout streak of 188 minutes in hand. First kick for the match is slated for 6 pm at Ellis Field.
Texas A&M is 3-2-0 on the season and the Aggies are coming off consecutive shutouts against Tulsa (2-0) and Little Rock (1-0). The last time the Maroon and White yielded a goal was with 7:58 remaining in a 1-0 loss to then-No. 15 UCLA.
Junior Haley Pounds leads Texas A&M's offense with seven points on three goals and one assist. Freshman Cienna Arrieta has two goals on the year. The Aggie defense boasts a 0.60 goals-against average, with Danielle Rice posting a pair of shutouts.
Illinois is looking to halt a three-match skid. After opening the season with wins against Morehead State (2-0) and Illinois State (1-0), the Illini have dropped one-goal decisions to Missouri (3-2 OT), Saint Louis (1-0) and TCU (2-1).
