
No. 5 Aggies Set to Host Texas A&M Invite

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 5 Texas A&M softball team will host its final non-conference tournament of the season, the Texas A&M Invite, Friday through Sunday at the Aggie Softball Complex.
The Aggies (15-1) begin play Friday at 3 p.m. against UTSA followed by a matchup against Georgetown. On Saturday, Texas A&M faces Prairie View A&M at 12:15 p.m. and Georgetown at 3 p.m., before closing out the tournament Sunday at 12:15 p.m. against UTSA.
Texas A&M is coming off its first loss of the season, falling to Houston, 1-0. Riley Sartain leads the team with a .405 average while Kristen Cuyos has a team-high three home runs and is tied for the team lead with 11 RBI. The Aggies hold a 1.30 team ERA, led by Samantha Show (6-0, 0.57 ERA) and Trinity Harrington (4-1, 0.75). Lexi Smith totes a 4-0 record and 1.83 ERA.
Friday and Sunday's contests will be the 40th and 41st installments in the series against UTSA as Texas A&M leads 33-6. The two teams met on April 7, 2015 in which the Aggies won 5-2.
The Roadrunners enter the weekend with a 6-9 record on the year, and are led offensively by Rylee Rodriguez, who has five home runs and 18 RBI. In the circle, Lizzy Fox is 4-7 with a 2.49 ERA.
Georgetown holds a 3-11 record on the campaign. Mallory Belknap leads the team with a .489 average while Sera Stevens has two home runs and seven RBI. Anna Brooks Pacha is 3-3 in the circle with a 4.08 ERA.
The Lady Panthers are currently 1-11 on the season and are led by Shelby Williams, who holds a .265 average, while Destinee Williams and Kylar Ward-Flowers have each added a home run. Ashley Higgins is 1-6 with an 8.15 ERA.
Texas A&M holds a 3-0 advantage over PVAMU in the series history. The Aggies won 11-0 in the last meeting between the two teams in 2009.
