No. 5 Texas A&M Resumes Conference Play at Arkansas

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 5 Texas A&M Softball team hits the road for a three-game series at Arkansas, beginning Friday night at 5 p.m.
The Aggies enter the weekend with a 35-3 (9-2 SEC) record, tying the 2005 team for the best start in program history, while Arkansas is 25-14 (4-11 SEC).
The Maroon and White are led by Riley Sartain with a team-best .430 average and is second on the team in home runs at nine and RBI at 33. Tori Vidales paces the Aggies with 10 dingers and is tied for third in RBI with 29.
The Aggies hold a 1.20 team ERA, led by Samantha Show (13-2, 1.04 ERA) and Trinity Harrington (11-1, 1.14). Lexi Smith holds a 10-0 record and a 1.19 ERA.
Last weekend, Texas A&M stepped out of conference and swept former Big 12 rival, Oklahoma State. The Aggies scattered 23 hits and 11 extra-base hits against the Cowgirls, outscoring OSU, 25-3. Sartain hit .714 for the series with two home runs and eight RBI, while Vidales and Kristen Cuyos each slugged two homers. Harrington, Show and Smith each recorded complete game victories for the Aggies.
The Razorbacks are led by Autumn Russell, who is batting .373 and Nicole Schroeder, who has a team-high 12 home runs and 41 RBI. In the circle, Autumn Storms is 11-9 with a 1.87 ERA and 72 strikeouts.
Friday's contest can be seen on ESPNU with Pam Ward and Cheri Kempf on the call, and Sunday's game will be broadcasted on SEC Network +, available through WatchESPN and the ESPN app. All three games can be heard locally on Willy 1550 AM.
