May 10, 2017 | General, Center for Student-Athlete Services
COLLEGE STATION, Texas— A total of 79 Texas A&M student-athletes have earned degrees including 11 with master's this semester as Commencement exercises are set to take place at Reed Arena beginning Thursday (May 12) and continuing through Friday (May 13). The College of Engineering will hold its ceremony at Kyle Field on Saturday (May 14).
"I am extremely proud of these students for earning a degree from our outstanding university while also competing at the highest level," Director of Athletics Scott Woodward said. "Among these graduates are All-Americans, SEC champions, and national champions, and some of the very best in the world at their respective sports. These student-athletes have put in a lot of time, effort and dedication to reach this goal."
"Not only have many of these student-athletes excelled on the playing fields and in the classrooms, but they have made a positive impact in our community." Woodward explained. "They are excellent role models and outstanding representatives of Texas A&M and Aggies everywhere."
Several student-athletes are still competing in conference play and various SEC and NCAA championships and will be unavailable to participate in Commencement ceremonies.
