COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M earned 16 first-team All-American honors and four second-team accolades during the NCAA Indoor Championships that were held inside Gilliam Indoor Stadium this past weekend.
The record-filled championships were held in front of the largest NCAA Indoor crowds since 2005, with 4,729 on hand for Friday and 5,280 in attendance on Saturday. Action during the meet produced two world records, a world best, two world junior records, four American records, six collegiate records and nine championship meet records.
The Aggie men and women each totaled eight first-team and two second-team All-American honors. First-team All-Americans are awarded to finishers among the top eight of each event contested in the NCAA Indoor Championships while second-team honors are given to places ninth through 16th.
Mylik Kerley, Jazmine Fray and Danyel White each garnered individual and relay first-team All-American awards. Individual first-team All-American honors were picked by national long jump champion Will Williams, Sammy Watson (800m), Audie Wyatt (pole vault), Jacob Wooten (pole vault), and Lajarvia Brown (triple jump).
Relay first-team All-Americans included Ilolo Izu, Robert Grant, Devin Dixon, Glorilisha Carter, and Jarra Owens. The Aggie men were runner-up in the 4x400 with a world record time of 3:01.39 while the women placed sixth in a season best of 3:31.64.

In addition to becoming the first Aggie long jump winner at the NCAA Indoor Championships and breaking the previous school record set in 2006, the series of jumps by Williams produced a total of four marks among the top 12 all-time performances at Texas A&M.
Following his 26-10 ½ (8.19) school record, which is the collegiate leader for the 2018 indoor season, Williams also had jumps that measured 26-2 ¼ (7.98), 26-0 ¼ (7.93), and 25-10 ¾ (7.89). Those efforts rank 4-6-11 among the top 12 performances.
