AGGIE NOTES:
WHAT THEY SAID
Texas A&M Head Coach Jo Evans
On Show's performance in the circle…
"I thought what she did well was she got in a few jams and she got herself out. She made good pitches, we took care of the ball on defense and they came out attacking the ball. She didn't get on her heels. She still attacked the zone and went after hitters. She threw a lot of pitches but Sam can throw a lot of pitches; it doesn't faze that kid."
On Show's performance offensively…
"When she's pitching and hitting at the same time, she's so good. She loves being out there and she loves being in the moment so it's fun to see her play like that. I thought it was huge for her to get the RBI but also be able to take that on the field. I think that makes her even better as a pitcher."
On the crowd…
"The crowd was great. It's so much fun to have a loud crowd and I really appreciate everybody coming out on a day like today. I think it's special for our opponents to play in front of. I'm not suggesting they don't have good fans where they are, but you get a college atmosphere here. You would expect that in basketball and football and other sports but sometimes you don't necessarily get that in softball so I know for me, as an opponent when I go somewhere, if the crowd is all in, and they're loud or super quiet if it's something good that happened for us, it's fun to play in that kind of atmosphere. The coaches and players have fun with that. It makes for a better atmosphere for everybody when you can have a little fun with it."
