No. 19 Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Set for Top-25 Clash Against No. 21 Oklahoma

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 19 Texas A&M men's tennis team faces its sixth top-25 team of the season as take on No. 21 Oklahoma (12-3) Tuesday evening at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center . The Aggies (14-3, 5-0 SEC) and Sooner face off for the 33rd time as first serve is set for 6 p.m.
"We are very excited to renew our rivalry again with Oklahoma," Texas A&M head coach Steve Denton said. "They got us in a tight one last year in Orlando, 4-3, and tomorrow should be another great matchup. They are a very experienced team and we will need to be in top form tomorrow night."
The Maroon & White return to action after winning their last 11 matches, including a perfect 5-0 start to the SEC season. The Aggies won their 19 straight regular season SEC match as they defeated LSU, 5-2, in Baton Rouge on Saturday. Following the victory over the Bayou Bengals, A&M swept New Orleans 7-0.
Texas A&M boasts four student-athletes in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Men's Top 125 National Singles Rankings. Vacherot moved up nine spots to No. 38 this week to lead the charge for the Maroon & White. Joining Vacherot in the Top 125 are No. 58 Smith, No. 120 Habib and No. 121 Austin Abbrat.
Smith is an impressive 12-1 this spring having won 13 of his last 14 matches including the clincher against No. 1 Ohio State last week. Habib has won 11 of his 13 matches since rejoining the team in January. Abbrat, a freshman from Spring, Texas, has won nine of his last 11 matches.
The Aggies return to conference action after taking on the Sooners as Arkansas comes to town on Friday at 6 p.m.
